sick

i went home early from work today.. i was not really feeling well this morning that i thought i would never arrive home in one piece.

i'm not complaining though but this 12-hour job i got right now really stressed me out. the actual work is not that hard but the responsibility and the long hours in such a busy place would make anyone feel grumpy and tired.

i miss my 8-hour job in hong kong and china wherein the job mainly requires me to handle the sales, promotion and distribution of plating equipments and related stuff; full time in my office sitting in front of my computer and meeting customers to follow up deals. now that i shifted to food industry made me realized how lucky i was then..

i already got my OHIP Card (Ontario Health Card) last week but we don't have any family doctor yet so i was not able to see one today. i'll try to go to a nearby clinic tommorow for a check up. in a meantime, i'm here in bed and trying to recuperate. the dizziness and joint pains really struck me hard.

About the house? Well, we did not get it.. we tried to offer $213K but failed..

Johnsons and Johnsons

I always felt bad when the trusted brands were put under scrutiny considering that J&J has been the most trusted name in baby products since 1886..

According to the Shenzhen Daily News this morning, there was this watchdog from the US stating that Johnson and Johnson's Baby products has found to have contained toxic elements. But the State quality watchdogs however denied an earlier report. There would be further investigation.. The investigation concerns mainly on the J&J's baby bath and baby shampoo products which allegedly containing cancer-causing chemicals 1,4-dioxane and formaldehyde.


J&J has been my family's trusted brand even before I was born. I grew up using the one and only "NO MORE TEARS SHAMPOO", and used the product when I had children of my own.. It was really sad that after strings of food safety scandals just few months ago, here comes the bad news again about this famous and trusted brand..

There are many families all over the world trusting this brand.. After over 123 years of manufacturing similar products, why mothers suddenly has to face this kind of distress?

recuperating

Women in their 40s tend to suffer from hormonal imbalances in various degrees. I had suffered from it since middle of October last year and so I was advised by our dearest Ate Vernie, one of the well-known OB Gyne back home, to take Primolut N since December. Bleeding is anticipated after 10 days of medication.

What we had not anticipated is the time when it would occur. To our dismay, I had mine exactly on the New Years eve so the entire 2L3Bs and our extended families here spent our 1st day of 2009 in Shenzhen Hospital. Although I had suffered from excruciating pain, I still feel highly blessed because I was finally cured and most importantly, I had felt all the love and concern of those around me. After receiving a clean bill of health from my Chinese OB Gyne, I am finally home now and recuperating.

I am supposed to jot down how we had celebrated our new year before the bleeding but I guess I gotta do that later. May I in this instance thank all the people that had extended their love and concern during my ailments. My dearest loving husband who never left my side, my dearest children, our kind-hearted Ate Vernie (MD), Dr. Sau Hau Tau, Dr. Anita Sun (my OB Gyne in Hong Kong), Amy, Jerah, Laila, Susan R, Leah, T2 Tiny, T2 Elvis, Grace, Cristy, Roger, Jerome, Susan C and our pangyaw. And above all, may this be the time for me and my family to ceaselessly thank MAMA MARY and our LORD. Words ain't enough to express how our hearts were deeply touched by YOUR mercy..

keep fit

when i woke up this morning, my back is a bit in pain. this often happens whenever i miss my exercise. it's been many months now since i stopped. our home here in china has enough exercise equipment to open up a small gym. the 2L3Bs used to buy those equipment we saw on TV, use it until it's new then let it rot in our terrace after few days of being active body builders. you can call us 'the seasonal health buff family' :)

and so this morning, i decided to stick to my former health regimen. instead of requesting our housemaid to buy our Sunday meal, I decided to brisk walk on my way to the supermarket and do my much-needed exercise. The supermarket is just few blocks away from us but it really helps me shed some calories. know why? i forgot to buy some ingredients for the crab i was planning to cook so i gotta hurry back to the supermarket. no longer in an enjoyable brisk walking phase but i gotta jog this time because i left the crabs simmering in the pot. i apparently got back in time and so we got a lovely crab sinigang and chicken adobo for lunch..

after lunch however, i received a mail postal slip stating an immediate claim instructions so i have to go and claim the mail from our nearby post office. i decided not to take a ride, so i jog again and this time i am happy as can be... few of my calories had been shed by just walking to and fro.

mood swings

the primolut n does not rule out.. mood swings could not affect this feeling of contentment i am having right now.

this is a happy sunday for 2L3Bs.. we'll gonna be complete once again. Our daughter shall arrive today from the university, pa decided to take a day off, Kuya 1 although busy with his computer jobs is here with us as usual while the Kuya 2 shall only be away for few hours for his nightly gig. We might go out tonight and watch him perform..
